Our Birth

While the 1:6 scale modeling hobby was started in 1964 when Hasbro, Inc. introduced the first 12 inch G.I. Joe action figure, only starting in the late '90s did the hobby see a mainstream revival. Hasbro reintroduced the 12 inch G.I. Joe line in the early 1990s with much success and by 1997, several new companies have emerged to produce more unique and elaborate 12 inch action figures. Thanks to companies like Sideshow and Hot Toys, the 1:6 scale hobby became more mainstream and more open to the general public.

Our Awakening 

But by 2003, lack of sales due to slow economic growth forced some companies to go out of business while others limited their production and offerings. Fans of the hobby were forced to rely on lackluster offerings by the major manufacturers and many turned to their own customization. Thus, many of the smaller  outique custom manufacturers emerged from China and Hong Kong. Many custom items by collectors offered far better quality and creativeness than most professionally manufactured products by existing companies, but the end-collector had to pay the premium in order to purchase an offering.

By the end of 2004, collectors of the hobby have changed and demanded more for their money; refusing to overpay the ridiculous prices asked by small private companies and entities because "nothing else was out there." Fed up with the quality, pricing, and offerings that were available, Triad Toys began to emerge.

Our Commitment 

Triad Toys, Inc. was started with fresh new ideals. We demanded more for our money. We want better, well-thought out designs that are made of the highest quality possible without paying the premium. We want to be creative and artistic and not limit ourselves to anything. We want to make toys and products that are suited for us. When we make a product, it must meet our quality standards. The one question we always ask before a product goes out the door is: Will we, as a consumer, gladly pay good money for what we make and be happy with this purchase?

The majority of our staff at Triad Toys, Inc. are still collectors and fans of the 1:6 scale hobby. That will never change. Our belief is that a good design, well implemented, can carry you a long way. Unlike other companies that use mass marketing to sell their products, we use little to no marketing or advertisements. Instead, we'd rather reinvest that money into research and development and make better products. We believe that as long as you make a good product, your customer is your best advertiser. Our products will speak for themselves.

Our Future 

Triad Toys, Inc. was started with the support of many good friends, fans and collectors of the 1/6th scale hobby. Without the support of our friends and customers, Triad would not have even started so we truly value your friendship and support. We cannot express our gratitude enough to those who have supported us, so the only way to show our appreciation is to continually put out products that will not only meet your expectations, but we will do everything in our power to blow it away. That is our promise.
